Fiserv is a US fintech company that helps clients in the areas of account processing, digital banking solutions, payments and e-commerce. Yesterday (23 June), it formed a joint venture with Deutsche Bank, Germany’s largest bank, to offer customers payments-processing services.

The company opened its Nenagh Technology Centre in Tipperary in 2017, and it also has a base in Dublin.

The latest investment in Ireland will enable the company to further develop two of its flagship offerings: Carat, an omnichannel commerce ecosystem, and Clover, a point-of-sale and business management platform that allows SMEs to accept payments.

Fiserv has a number of current vacancies at its Tipperary location in the areas of application and web development, cloud infrastructure and data science and architecture.

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar, TD, said the investment is great news for Nenagh and mid-west region.

“These 200 new jobs are a welcome boost and one which the Government is very happy to support,” he added. “Tipperary has the talent and skills to bring Fiserv to the next level and I wish the team the very best of luck with this expansion.”

Fiserv’s head of EMEA, John Gibbons, said: “We look forward to continuing to grow our talented and diverse workforce in Nenagh and value the support from key partners such as IDA Ireland that help enable us to achieve excellence in everything we do.”

IDA Ireland’s CEO, Martin Shanahan, said Fiserv’s expansion plan in Nenagh is “a clear endorsement” of a skilled and talented workforce across the mid-west region.

Fiserv’s news follows another major jobs announcement from Accenture this morning. The consultancy company plans create 500 new jobs over the next three years, the majority of which will be from the establishment of a new Munster regional hub.
