Automobile News Europe honors the 2021 Eurostars – Automotive News Europe

Seventeen of the industry’s most accomplished and dynamic executives have been honored as 2021 Eurostars by Automotive News Europe.

Since the program was started in 1998, Automotive News Europe has awarded more than 300 Eurostars to over 250 top executives.

The 24th annual Eurostars recognize leaders who have gone above and beyond to help drive their companies’ success. The winners range from CEOs to product managers to division chiefs, as well as top managers in tech-focused fields such as connectivity and mobility services.

Despite diverse backgrounds, all shared several things in common, specifically, the drive, ingenuity and compassion needed to succeed in one of the most challenging years in memory for the automotive industry.

The first winner to be announced, in the category of Group CEO, is Daimler boss Ola Kallenius.

The following 16 winners will be presented each weekday on the Automotive News Europe website until Sept. 7, when they will be honored at a private dinner during the IAA in Munich auto show.

This year’s Eurostars are sponsored by Capgemini Invent, the Capgemini Group’s innovation, design and transformation business division, which accelerates ideas into prototypes and scalable real-world solutions that help clients get the future they want.

Each winner will receive a trophy designed by Torino Design.

“The 17 people who we honor this year have overcome unprecedented professional and personal challenges during and after the pandemic. The flexibility and talent they have shown during such difficult times is remarkable. They are helping to lead the auto industry into a new era in a profitable way, which is not a given substantial headwinds ranging from the chip shortage to price increases for raw materials,” Automotive News Europe Associate Publisher & Editor Luca Ciferri said. “With this year’s group, we have recognized 262 people as Eurostars in the last 24 years and all of them have made a significant contribution to the greatness and resiliency of the European auto industry.”
